Congratulation to Gabriel Medina for Winning The Rip Curl Pro Portugal 2017!

Supertubos, Peniche/Portugal, 26 Oktober 2017 – Gabriel Medina from Brazil won the Rip Curl Pro Portugal 2017 over Julian Wilson from Australia on the World Surf League (WSL). Medina won with 3 to 5’ breaks and it was the 8th winning that he achieved, only 10 days after he won in France.

“I really want to win in one of European competition and being able to win 2 competitions is just beyond happiness!” said Medina. “It’s a hard work to compete with Julian (Wilson), but I keep fighting and I’m so happy that I finally win!”

Came to Europe on the 8th Jeep Leaderboard, this WSL 2014 winner position has skyrocketed into the 2nd with his back-to-back winning at Hossegor and Peniche. He’s going to be a strong contender for John Florence on the final WSL tour in Hawaii, December 2017.
