Goethe Film festival

The Fifth German Cinema Film Festival 2016

European film always has its own, good-different style. And from 2012, Goethe Institut constantly screened many great films in their event called German Cinema. This year, from the 14th until 23rd of October, German Cinema organizing the event in 6 cities in Indonesia. Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and Makassar were chosen to screening 17 great German films.

Today, Bali starts the event at Galeria XXI, and 9 great films will be screened. There will be various genres, from drama, up to thriller, which is still “rare” for German films. And the good-promising thing is, most of the films has nominated and won several world class film festivals. For the highlight, Victoria, one of the film, has won 13 awards, including 3 awards in Berlin International Film Festival. Imagine this, 138 minutes film about bank robbery, shot in one continuous shot. It’s wild, Victoria is wild.
